BONELESS
Lyrics
Don't go you’re never gonna ride Don’t ride you’re never gonna fall off, Don’t fall you’re never gonna get back Up and fall off the damn thing again. Don't go you’re never gonna -ride Don’t ride you’re never gonna -fall, Don’t fall you’re never gonna get back Up and fall off the damn thing again. Go boneless-, Do a kick flip, kiss a grind rail, Now that’s a sick trick, All my friends saying that I should quit this, You’re too old, too white, and the boat-? You missed it, * Like it’s my fault, That I pop-shove, and then ride walls, Like the fact that I’m even remotely good at this is, Somehow only seems act as an eyesore, Right? So I guess fuck me? Like the fact that you won’t is a good thing? The one thing I enjoy is a dumb thing? Give it up, fly right, it’s the done thing, I’ll tell you one thing - Not gonna happen, I might just drop the board, and then get good at rapping, So why attack when decisions in the past then? Kneejerk reactions, I outlast them, we moved past it, You say: You’re only looking out for me, I say: Cool story, but I doubt it G, I dont care if you dont get it, ain’t a doubt to me, I could do it if you was or wasn’t proud of me But this could work so beautifully, You could even say it at my eulogy, When I’m dead, you’ll say you flew with me, But I’m not, and my advice to you would be: Don't go you’re never gonna ride Don’t ride you’re never gonna fall off, Don’t fall you’re never gonna get back Up and fall off the damn thing again. Don't go you’re never gonna -ride Don’t ride you’re never gonna -fall, Don’t fall you’re never gonna get back Up and fall off the damn thing again.

9.00/10 score rank #6 of 23VOCALS 8PRODUCTION 9CHALLENGE 10● Love the metaphor of skateboarding mixed with having faith in believing in your craft. This type of concept can really be put together lyrically. The only thing to focus on is the leveling of the vocals in the beat. At some moments the beat ends up louder than the vocal at some parts when more instruments get added. ● Production- fun sound throughout the track, just be a little careful the most instruments you add. I would try to spread out the instruments in the mix to give it more room in your mix. Good work!

6.33/10 score rank #18 of 23VOCALS 7PRODUCTION 6CHALLENGE 6I have a soft spot for British rappers. I really like your conversational flow. It feels natural but not like you’re sitting down. This is a great metaphor. Anyone who has ever skated knows you’re gonna have to fall and you’re gonna have to get back up. I like the skate tricks sprinkles throughout the lyrics. I feel like the hook lyrics could have been dialed in a round or two of edits. One piece of writing advice I would give is that not every bar needs to come all the way to the end of the measure. A line that lands on the rhyme and ends earlier than expected can be really compelling and keep the rhythms fresher and less repetitive, especially when used right after a barrage of full lines that end further into the measure. I love the skating sounds in the beat, super on theme and it’s one of the best sounds in the world. It is percussion, though. No challenge notes, so if anything else is part of the challenge, I can’t tell. I can tell y’all know what you’re doing and have a clear vision, but I’d challenge this team on two fronts. I think you can get this vocal mix sounding even better. I love the dynamic use of effects, but I also think general vocal clean up like automating the volume down on breaths (but not silent or it feels weird!), a less subtractive EQ approach for a more rounded vocal tone, gentle rhythm correction (with crossfades) on the secondary vocals to line them up more precisely with the syllables of the main vocal. And maybe a tiny bit of dry signal mixed with those global vocal effects for retain a consistent presence and clarity through the changes! Keep up the creativity, y’all! Excited to see what you bring us next.

6.33/10 score rank #19 of 23VOCALS 6PRODUCTION 6CHALLENGE 7Verses are decent, hook is pretty nice. Sounds like there’s a near- commitment to the hook being melodic, would have liked to hear that. Beat is decent, vocals get a tad muddy in the overall soundscape.

7.33/10 score rank #3 of 23VOCALS 7PRODUCTION 8CHALLENGE 7Well off the bat I immedately love this. The skate sounds incorporated into the track is a nice touch to add to the lyrics. The message here is great too - live and enjoy what's important to you! Ready to see what ingenuity this group brings to future rounds.

7.00/10 score rank #12 of 23VOCALS 7PRODUCTION 7CHALLENGE 7THING 1 is being compared to THING TWO: Life = Skateboarding “Life = something” and “Speaker = something” are two of the more low-effort choices for metaphors, but this is such an effortlessly cool choice 80s vaporwave production really complements the skateboard-themed lyrics! Some layers are a little muddy at times and a bit repetitive, but vocals are clear throughout The time feel could be tighter for the rapping but I really enjoy the vocalist’s confidence. He makes me believe that he believes in himself and the fact that he’s dope. That’s not easy to achieve. I think the chorus is strong, and could’ve been even stronger if it had some melody in it - not sure if vocalist was trying to sing or just sing-rap, but I challenge you to try it in the next one. “I dont care if you dont get it, ain’t a doubt to me, I could do it if you was or wasn’t proud of me” - word up homie.
