Big Man
Vocalist's challenge writeup
Swagswitcha used the "big man" metaphor to imply that he's the biggest star here as a rapper, while also solidifying the fact that he is in fact a big man who loves to eat candy AND his competition.
Producer's challenge writeup
I pulled a lizardgrove and put a jpg into audacity to generate a wave form, and then used Serum to mix that with a saw wave to create the main bass used throughout the song. The high pitched laser stabs are also audio taken from a video of me cooking beef bulgogi on my grill. That audio was manipulated in Serum 2's sampler to squash it into a stab.

7.67/10 score rank #13 of 23VOCALS 8PRODUCTION 6CHALLENGE 9● As a person that enjoys wrestling and enjoys competitive spirit in lyrics. This metaphor hits the mark in the challenge. You wasted no time on the track and came out Kaiju style. Solid energy throughout the song and triple entendre such as 8th wonder of the world “Andre the giant” were a nice touch. It would have been great to have a hook about being a “big man” only thing I saw missing here. ● Production: great drum mix throughout the song. Good way to manipulate the bass from a solid to an arp rhythm. Pretty cool how you use the stabs to add more elements to the beat. I would suggest that possibly having some other instruments layered into the main melody or even harmonic tones would take this to the next level. Great submission.

8.00/10 score rank #6 of 23VOCALS 8PRODUCTION 8CHALLENGE 8Do more songs need big man disclaimers? Respect. I love that you brought fresh ideas and flavor to this classic rap metaphor. I love a personal sub-challenge so extra props for all the pokémon inserts. This beat sounds great, mix sounds great. I dig the sample transformation and usage, they add enormous energy to the almost electrodub vibe of this song and are very much on theme. I'm curious to know what was in the jpeg...I feel like you could have gone a little harder on the production challenge at your skill level, but this is nothing to disrespect! These might be the best sounding drums of the round? They hit SO HARD. Kick is nice and clean but has got plenty of top end. Snare got me blinking.

8.00/10 score rank #2 of 23VOCALS 8PRODUCTION 8CHALLENGE 8Bars for days, then proceeds to list candy bars… hilarious. Flow was cool, If there’s a hook here it didn’t catch me. Song Ends a bit abruptly but very enjoyable. Beat is nice and competent. the vocals sit very nicely in this mix. Maybe a fade out after the vocals are over rather than the beat just abruptly ending.

6.33/10 score rank #16 of 23VOCALS 8PRODUCTION 7CHALLENGE 4THING 1 is being compared to THING 2 Speaker = Large Guys Comparing yourself to the quality being big, when you yourself are ALREADY big, is technically not a metaphor. A metaphor requires two completely different things to be compared to each other. (Example: Imp and Navi - murder = camera) So you technically didn’t meet the challenge which I will dock a point from. That being said, this is a dope ass track that will shake a room! Many big bars are done, drawing analogies and comparisons to big people and things. Production is absolutely massive with the saw bass. I can feel the weight! Although I feel like it’s a bit spare and could use more layers of instruments. And the song feels a bit incomplete; could use a chorus. “King size treatment, on no scale is you out weighin” - FIRE “Yokozuna, I stay squashing the competition” - HEAVY “Big body moves, never slipping cuz I break the ice” - COLD

7.00/10 score rank #6 of 23VOCALS 8PRODUCTION 6CHALLENGE 7I'm really digging the embracement in the message here, no shame in being who you are. I'm a pokemon guy so I appreciate the callouts, who makes UB references? While I like the beat here, I don't get the nearly 30 seconds of dead air at the end.
