4.67/10 score rank #23 of 23VOCALS 4PRODUCTION 6CHALLENGE 4Doesn't feel like a completed song, especially with the lyrics feeling quite unfinished, but I like the noisy production. Is that sampling a ecg machine?? Thing 1 being compared to thing 2: speaker = heart. It technically meets the challenge but the metaphor doesn't go beyond using many heart references. It's not clear to me exactly how the analogies relate back to the speaker. Wish I could give yall points for the Shin cover art though!

6.33/10 score rank #12 of 23VOCALS 6PRODUCTION 6CHALLENGE 7I dig the confidence here, but the competition is far from over! The use of an ECG is very innovative and I think that deserves a bit of recognition, but I would have liked to get just a little more out of both the vocals and beat, the whole song felt soft and like it was lacking something that needed to make this shine.

6.67/10 score rank #16 of 23VOCALS 7PRODUCTION 6CHALLENGE 7It's the dong squad! The heart imagery is a very cool vibe overall. I like how the track sort of pivots back and forth between a smooth almost R&B vibe to a really rough off-pitchcenter dark vibe. I'm not super clear on what the other side of the metaphor is beyond that KKMDS lives in our hearts. Maybe the jarring yet compelling experience of taking in a full KKMDS project compared with how palpitations make you feel like you've suddenly been knocked off center? I really like this noisier vibe for KKMDS. No info provided, so I'm guessing with the heart imagery, these are cardiac monitor beep or the like? It's a good idea. I'm not sure how much effort went into pitch shifting those to get the harmonic vibe you were going for, but overall that has a really unsettling almost atonal vibe with the super heavy guitar riff which is a really effective contrast to the smooth section. I dig how you match the grease and grit in Gill's voice for the verse, then match the smooth whispery vibe of it for the second hook. This track keeps a good pocket throughout despite what seems to be an intentionally challenging aesthetic. I dig.

6.00/10 score rank #22 of 23VOCALS 6PRODUCTION 6CHALLENGE 6That hook is a bit of an Earworm, lol. It takes up a majority of the song, and almost accomplishes its goal of making me join the Wubalubdub cult. Beat is serviceable. Vocal mix is crushed.
