JUDGES' BREAKDOWN

    CHALLENGE 3

This feels like a low-effort shitpost. I don't have much to go off of other than it's a reference to Phillip K. Dick and King Kong? Not clear how else it meets the challenge both vocalist and producer-wise. It's not very appealing as a song either. There was an effort made, but it mostly doesn't have replay value because I don't wanna hear the words King Kong Semen in a song ever again.

With no context and only vibes, I dig the track. Goat vibes, baaa. Lyrics flow nice, the beat is pleasant and the whole thing is a short and sweet little package. Why did she throw the goat off the roof?! I'm not entirely sure how much we hit the mark on the challenge from both angles, but I do think there was an effort put forth for it. Just would have been nice to have context.

I like this groove. I only hear one or two samples for sure, and with no notes I'm not able to recognize any additional. I appreciate the room you left for the vocal to be showcased. I would love to hear Gill's overdubs lined up in post to match the lead vocal syllables for a cleaner overall vocal track. I'd still love to hear Gill's vocals get a little more love on their mix treatment. References are solid throughout the lyrics. This is something Gill does naturally, so I'm not surprised they excelled here. No confirmation that at least one sample from each bin was used is going to impact the challenge score, though. I appreciate the beat switch up, too. I dig the outro refrain, but I would love to get more than just the one verse.

Sonically, this song has a solid foundation, the soundscape is interesting. I think the vocals can be more present in the mix. I hear the beat switch, but it doesn’t necessary add anything vibe-wise. Flow could be a little tighter at certain spots, but the vocals are delivered with a neat personality. Hook could be better, it’s a bit syllabically crowded.

    CHALLENGE 2

I appreciate the submission this round. I do have a few notes for improvement. First the vocals are a little muddy due to the stacked layers of the main vocals and adlibs not being fully lined up. When this happens, it makes it hard to understand overtime. Reverb and delays on all the vocals also creates mud in the mix. I'm not sure what the song is truly about but I feel it doesn't meet the challenge requirements for this round. Production is ok, but not sure which sounds you ended up using this round. Thanks for submitting.
