Lyrics
Roman Pearce: Hey man, you got something to eat up in there? We hungry

Dear Dom, I’m tryna live my life a quarter mile at a time but I don’t know how
Can’t afford a Charger but my father’s got a Hi-Ace that I’m racing now
These days, Brian’s not a real common name so my best friend’s Simon, but
We put a NoS tank in the back seat, so you best believe that we’re rippin it up

I put 20 inch rims on the van, got a supercharger sitting in the cab goddamn,
I think my dad’s gone crazy, every time I race he flips out, it’s Shady, man
No one knows you better than I do, that’s the truth, anyways I just wanna say thanks
Get me in and we’ll do the thing, spinning Hoobastank, truly yours, for the record, this is Frank

And the reason is…

We go fast, we get furious, pop the hood, if you’re curious
We wanna join the crew, have a few Coronas in the motor, while you’re busy interviewing us
Barbecue with us, we’re both going bald, and we’ll be there soon
I just think we can zoom with the best, I assume that you’ll see that’s true when you have a rendezvous with us

Alright listen Dom, I wrote a couple weeks ago, I think you know you never wrote back
I’m a fan, I got banned from the track when the cops rocked up cos my ride had a lo-jack
You should know that, I’ve been sleeping at night with a wrench cos I dreamt that you needed a hand
And I woke in a sweat with a wet bed, wet underpants and an empty sack

I think I love you, and I’ve been trying to forget about it cuh, but I can’t let go
There’s this feeling deep inside me and I need it like I need a tuna snack from Toretto’s love shack, oh no!
I really need you Dom, it doesn’t matter if you give me an inch or a mile, I’m spread
Cos winning’s winning, and I just wanna win and put a smile on your bald fuckin head

To my sweet piece Dom, today I got a letter in the mail from a man named Vin
I don’t know who he is but I guess a producer on the docos that you and your fam star in
Remember when you said you don’t have friends, you got family? Please daddy Dom, I belong
Tack me on, you know I could be the brains of the outfit, doubtless you’d be the brawn

So come on, man, please, I wanna be just like you, I got the height too, but you’re just a little tougher
I could be your undercover, wanna Spill-n-ya sheets, let me join the family, I could be your brother
Motherfucker, must I beg? Please don’t leave me with “Ejecto-Seato cuz”
Letty mighta left, but I swear that amnesia was bullshit, I need ya, love,

The power of family is evident in this track. The vocals themselves are good, although they could have a bit more presence on the high-end. I think adlibs would help in sections of the verses where there’s a noticeable gap between lines. The beat is cool, I think there are certain switches where the drums could be more pronounced (i.e. at 1:06), but otherwise it good stuff.

I kinda do love the first few Fast and Furious movies, there's something nostalgic about them for me, so bonus points there. The Stan angle works, but I'm hearing it as fully parody, which did give the song a bit of humor across the duration. (Not a bad thing!) I didn't think I'd see a Hoobastank reference in this competition and here we are... I'm not sure if I'm supposed to hate it or not, but it works here from the angle I was listening! "Ejecto-seato cuz" took me out. Well done y'all.

Fast and curious (fast and furious), nice play on words for the song title. Fun approach of doing conversation rap similar to Eminem classic "stan". Only criticism I have is to be careful with volume levels between the main and adlib vocals. The adlibs was a little too loud at certain points in the song. Production was nice. It could use some compression on a drum a little in the beginning. Other than that, beat was a banger. Love the rap/rock elements within the song! keep it up!

Stan but make it Fast and Furious? You'd think this wouldn't work but it's so ridiculous it circles all the way back to working again. I like that even though it's an obsessive stan song, it's upbeat. I.e. it's fast, and the speaker eventually gets furious. Frank Danger: Lots of outta pocket moments that I found funny. You have a fun, energetic delivery that keeps the song moving. I hear the improvement in your writing - "make it clear what it's about!" and you wasted no time. One note is that I think the chorus is too long. "We go fast, we get furious, pop the hood, if you’re curious. We wanna join the crew, have a few Coronas in the motor, while you’re busy interviewing us". Just repeat those two lines again and you have a much better chorus. Mike Bananas: I really quite liked this. The contrast between, and transitions to and from, verses and choruses, was compelling and enjoyable to listen to. The samples used are well-integrated for this purpose.

Really solid sample work on this Mike. Good show! This reminds me of the I already miss you that MC Squared made for you in VPC1! I love the switchups from various groove samples. It's done very well. I'd love to hear you do some more layering of multiple elements from different sources. I appreciate that with so many switchups, this compounds the work that would take, but overall you did really solid work here and my favorite moments are the places where you did do that layering and interlacing! I love that Franklin made this a multilayered reference sandwich. There's a top layer of reference right on top of the story, then the whole story put on top of a whole other referential layer...like pie. this is a really creative concept and I think you pulled it off well!
