Lyrics
This one goes out to Ben Tarkus, by virtue of agreeing to judge this contest you have taken upon yourself the most ancient and noble burden of hospitality.
We're hungry, beware of our appetite.

we rolled a blunt out your knives like the dwarves said
in your Mama's bed make her scream like a horse head
force fed pills like Lucille Bluth
they think they're number one but they're all Lucille Twos
that's a cool hand, luke, open the pantry lemme scoop
some small batch tall grass bamboo shoots
a baba ghanoush croquembouche with the harissa drizzle
no benders cuz the only Fry I like is a Frizzle

eyes ruby rhod red from the supergreen
Big Pink lickitung slurpin every plate clean
we got the skills, the Eyedeas, the Abilities
we're singin frank sinatra in the Philippines /and/
that's what bilbo baggins hates
that's what bilbo baggins hates
that's what bilbo baggins hates
that's what bilbo baggins hates

packin up the old toby
fist to chin cause we're thinkin 'bout the homies
let me spell that last one out in the next bar:
when I say thinking, I mean the sculpture by Ren-war
um actually it's Rodin that don't matter
when the SLLVNs are at your house your opps brains splatter
we'll punch a horse in it's mouth be it gift or Trojan
it's Barbenheimer we love pink and explosions
call Jared Harris for the nuclear dosage
or Doctor Greg House to get a lethal prognosis
so yeah we'll eat you outta house and home
but we'll Macaulay Culkin paint cans at your enemies domes

bear gifts, bear arms, bear teeth
roll cheese through the Cooper's Hill streets
break bread, break bed, break beats
I'd cross the Alps for some of Hannibal's eats!

eyes ruby rhod red from the supergreen
Big Pink lickitung slurpin every plate clean
we got the skills, the Eyedeas, the Abilities
we're singin frank sinatra in the Philippines /and/
that's what bilbo baggins hates
that's what bilbo baggins hates
that's what bilbo baggins hates
that's what bilbo baggins hates

S: Yeah, asses of the dwarves! The dwarves are upon you!
Y: Did you just say asses?
S: Yup.
Y: It's not 'asses,' it's 'axes.'
S: Pretty sure it's asses.
Y: Are you FUCKING with me right now?!

That was very interesting. The HTML annotation file was really cool. I liked that extra bit of effort. Challenge was achieved! I wish the song description in the HTML was clearer through the actual song. It seems like you intended to make it deep and heartfelt, but the actual message was obscured behind the fun wordplay. Lil Yazz: I like the bars, many of them are vivid and creative. The writing note is above. YNGSLLVN: The samples feel very lived-in and integrated and the overall beat does bring out the message and vulnerability more than the lyrics do. The breakdown at the end is cool and different.

Pandering will get you everywhere but only for one challenge, YNG SLLVN. I see you, and I'm now aware of your appetite. We both ate this round, so thanks for serving. I know what you're capable of, so I'm not letting you off that easily. I want to see continuous growth from this group all the way to Round 5, so get after it. I'm digging the bars, I'm a sucker for Arrested Development, OP, and Futurama so these all hit marks for me. And who doesn't want to know what Bilbo Baggins hates? The breakdown at the end with the cutaway jabber I did enjoy, but thought the Lickitung part carried on just a little too long for me. You've got it dialed in now though, and I'm looking forward to seeing you get hungrier.

First off, This beat is NASTY. Sheesh. More switches than a random street corner in O-block. The rapping is straight, Hook is cool, simple but memorable, we like that. Flow has a lot of variety, could be just a hair tighter in a few spots where you switch cadences, but otherwise it’s good. Biggest complaint here is the last beat switch desperately needs some raps on it.

Okay I really enjoy the way you dance around the samples likes it mayday, weaving ribbons in and out. Is that how a maypole works? Then again, whose place is it to impose their maypole liturgy on our metaphor? I always love that your heat exist in a distinct space. The vibe is thick with this one. This outro is so fucking fire. Love that glitchy dirt snare. Liza Minnelli reference clocked. You’ve always such creative rhymes and references. That’s one of my favorite things about your lyricism. I’m the first to admit I’m not the type of moss enthusiast who understands much about Lord of the Rings, but I read all the whole annotation doc in raw html and couldn’t find the part that explained the hook or how the verses have arrived to such a proclamation. …Okay okay, I’m back. I went and watched the scene, it’s the refrain line from the blunt the knives song, honestly that’s on me. I don’t think it’s the catchiest hook you could have come up with for this track, though. Because the verses have some moments that are catchy as fuck. The repetition gets to be too much pretty quickly. And even knowing the original song, I’m not sure it’s the best fit for the song. But this could be a meme that just isn’t one of my memes, and sometimes that happens. The deeper the reference, the greater the risk your listener might miss it. It if it still hits when they don’t know the reference, they might look it up some day. That’s a calculation we make constantly in Nerdcore... The verses fuck though.

Fun track to hear with heavy drums and bass galore. Very clever lyrics with name flips throughout the track. Only thing I would point out is that the vocal could be a little cleaner with some Eq and saturation to help the vocals pop out more. Production is solid, would suggest shaping your 808 so they don't bleed into the main bass lines. overall keep going!
