Vocalist's challenge writeup
As I see it, my bio is my bio. You don’t wanna go near my bio. You don’t need to have anything to do with my bio. All of my bio is my information if you even try to figure out any part even a one D of the D of the end of the a of my bio, I swear to all things Christ and Christ like and not Christ like especially that I’m gonna have to report you to the Better Business Bureau of doctors, which is probably not the Better Business Bureau. Producer's challenge writeup
I approached this one fairly straightforwardly. I dusted off an electric guitar I hardly ever use, "invented" a tuning that I'm sure already exists but I couldn't be bothered to figure out what it was, and made up a short approximation of some sloppy instrumental heavy metal(?) that I thought might work for a wrestling entrance based on not watching enough wrestling to really know what that's supposed to sound like. Then I added drums and bass to that, sampled it and chopped it up, added some different drums and bass to *that* to make a basic beat, which I sent to Kordlyss... Then after getting his vocals, I restructured the beat around them. Then when I was mostly done with that, I thought, what the hell, I'll throw some vocals on the entrance theme, since that's allowed for this round and I have a little bit of time left, so I wrote something based on the backstory that Kordlyss had pitched, filling in what what the Inpatient might have been told at the hospital (or how he might remember it), and I attempted to mirror the sort of ramping franticness of his rapping style, but in a weird grunge/new-wave hybrid singing voice that's probably never come out of my mouth before and I'm not sure where it came from.

7.67/10 score rank #15 of 24VOCALS 8PRODUCTION 8CHALLENGE 7Kordlyss is flexing his character voice here. I'm impressed he can keep it going on for that long. I like Vincent's production, it's solid, not exceptional. I like the different sections of dirty guitar-driven stuff and smoother cleaner moments. I think "wrestling with my sanity" is a fun take on this prompt. Lyrics were not submitted but from what I could hear I couldn't really follow the narrative of the rise and fall of this character, nor his motivations. For that I docked points because the meat of the challenge was to have a clear narrative. I guess I somewhat have a mental image of what this persona is like based on the manic rapping, but that part could be more fleshed out too.

9.33/10 score rank #4 of 24VOCALS 9PRODUCTION 9CHALLENGE 10One thing I know for sure is when I hear your team, the technical rap is a treat to hear. Great solid work all around. Sometimes is could be a little too much to some but I enjoy it. Only notes is to make sure to let the instrumental breathe a little bit so we can be able to process the intense lyrics. other then that, great polished work.

7.00/10 score rank #13 of 24VOCALS 7PRODUCTION 6CHALLENGE 8I love the meta approach to the concept. Strong character. The guitar gets a little bit swallowed in the mix. I'd love it to have a little more high mids to cut through. Sometimes when I have an instrumental that's competing for frequencies with the vocal, but not in a way I just want to cut out, I use a multi-band compressor on the instrumental part to let the vocals push those frequencies down only when they happen. In general, the low end on the guitar feels a bit muddy. lmao, the namedrop made me snicker. Overall this beat is great and the vocal mix is super clean except for the where they are distorted.

8.33/10 score rank #8 of 24VOCALS 8PRODUCTION 7CHALLENGE 10Yes. Yes! Not only are we a heel in the story and it's told out loud, but coming for the other VPC participants as part of some promo material a la diss track? Here for it 100%, well done. I like the beat from the entrance theme converted into the full version of the song, and safe to say that along with the challenge element of it, I approve of the lyrics and delivery encompassing other performers and taking a shot at them for the sake of the heel angle. Y'all did great this round!

9.67/10 score rank #2 of 24VOCALS 10PRODUCTION 9CHALLENGE 10Badass with a stethoscope, anesthesia-themed finishing move. Yep, that’s the vibe here, lol. This beat is an immediate head bobber. That baseline is NASTY. Flow here is fucking nuts… vocalist really dances on this beat with an impressively chaotic precision. Vocal mix gets drowned in the track’s low end at times. Other than that, great work.
