Vocalist's challenge writeup
Drawing a lot of inspiration from the Timbaland/Justin Timberlake tracks of the mid-aughts, I was shooting for a kind of Lovestones/Sexyback sorta' deal. We all KNOW those choruses, even with a few more lyrics. We had to throw some dance club references in. Lyrically, we've got the following: "I know you like this beat, cuz Sean's been doing the damn thing" is a direct pull from Dua Lipa's "Future Nostalgia," another slow-but-amazing dance banger. The prechorus features "from every window to wall, I want you down on the floor" as a reference to the incredible Get Low. Both the prechorus and verse two feature a harmony singing "music make you lose control," a nod to Missy's "Lose Control." The third verse makes a direct reference to SexyBack, the authors of which are this song's prime influences. And what is the club, exactly? It's a circus (thanks Britney). It's a pool of sweat. It might even be the floor upon which you are getting down with me. Are you ready to go?
Producer's challenge writeup
I decided to pull a lot of inspiration from Timbaland for this one. I accomplished the following items into the beat: Big Nasty Drop Tension Building Rise and Breakdown Dramatic Pause Beat Switch Memorable Fill/Transition Bass Switch Surprise Instrumental (Saxophone on the chorus (I know. I love horns.)) DJ Friendly mixable intro and outro Energy Rest before the final section This beat was really fun and this is my first time pulling off a drop like I did for this song. One could argue that the song has 2 drops and not just 1 (Verse 3/Bridge and the actual drop after Verse 3), but who's counting anyways. For Verse 3, I went half-time with the beat as well as a beat switch for the whole Verse. All challenges have been met and I think this is, hands down, our best song in the competition to date.
Lyrics
One shot you feeling loose and Two shots it's party time We got the place surrounded And music on our minds I know you like this beat Cuz Sean's been doing the damn thing You want to go right now? Mr. Persona is the name I wanna let it all go I want you moving real slow I want you right in front of me From every window to wall Come throw it down on the floor And we can set this party free This got you breathing heavy I see you losing control This party got you sweating I think you're ready to go This got you breathing heavy I see you losing control This party got you sweating I think you're ready to go I wanna dance with you all the time Oh can't you feel it? Come on now and feel it. I got your body on my mind Music make you lose control I wanna let it all go I want you moving real slow I want you right in front of me From every window to wall Come throw it down on the floor And we can set this party free This got you breathing heavy I see you losing control This party got you sweating I think you're ready to go This got you breathing heavy I see you losing control This party got you sweating I think you're ready to go Yeah we do it like that Turn the god damn club to a circus act And with Rikkaari on the mix Zilla on the attack I got a full cup and a big ol' stack I had big ol' blast spending alla that cash And a big ol' blast had turned the world to ash I scribbled runes at the start of the match Now we're taking the sexy and we're bringin' it back YEAH Come on feel that beat flowin' through your hips And from the base to tip It's in your face, the lips And from the center of the big top Crack the whip It's like a pool a sweat Go and take a dip Come on over here, give me a sign Say the word and I'll make you mine Sold, signed and sealed Lemme show you how a couple of snacks Make a whole damn meal This got you breathing heavy I see you losing control This party got you sweating I think you're ready to go This got you breathing heavy I see you losing control This party got you sweating I think you're ready to go [breakdown]

9.00/10 score rank #8 of 21VOCALS 9PRODUCTION 8CHALLENGE 10Vocal performance is sexy on this one. This is the song that plays when you’re breaking a sweat dancing face to face with your club crush. Hook is catchy as hell “From every window to wall…” Vocals probably need a small bit more fine-tuning mix-wise. That half-time cadence switch, love that! The beat overall is solid, it stays exciting throughout, and the saxophones are a nice tough (it’s time to go when the saxophones get louder, lol).

8.67/10 score rank #8 of 21VOCALS 9PRODUCTION 7CHALLENGE 10Is this the Supermassive Blackhole bassline? I dig it either way. The vocal mix could use some love on the hook, which is tough because it's the most central vocal part of the track. The blend is a little off and makes it feel too crowded and not as clean as it should with this performance. I think some boosted low-mids are clashing and muddying things up and making it tough for the harmonies too resonate cleanly without competing frequencies. The mix at "got you breathing heavy" feels WAY better. These sax choppy are filthy. Love the breaks and transitions. Bars are sounding real good. lol, the Rock Your Body "yeah!" made me smile. This hook is growing on me by the end. Oooh, late break is very fun. Yeah this would go off in the club.

8.33/10 score rank #13 of 21VOCALS 9PRODUCTION 8CHALLENGE 8I love the mid 2000s club pop influence, I definitely hear Timberlake/Timbaland as well as that SexyBack sample. YEAH! Zilla's singing shines in this genre. When he switches to rapping it always throws me off because I'm like, "that's the same guy??" Classic Rikkari move getting saxy with it. Overall your production style fits comfortably with this genre. Some sections felt a bit disjointed from the rest / missing a beat? Yes you both technically met the challenges required of you. The irony is that in incorporating all these transitions, switch-ups and drops, the song has become just a bit too long, busy, and unfocused for it to truly qualify as a club banger in my eyes. Club bangers thrive in their simplicity. This is definitely a HEATER, DANCER and BOOTY SHAKER, don't get me wrong. But you did a bit too much. I also do not think this is your best track to date - that title goes to Sokoban Sadness.

7.67/10 score rank #15 of 21VOCALS 8PRODUCTION 8CHALLENGE 7This challenge is one I expected you to meet full speed, and I was right! However, this may be your weakest offering to the competition so far, but that doesn't make it unsuccessful or a poor entry by any stretch! I've given you perfect scores previously and this one just doesn't match those marks for me. The chorus is quick to pick up and the drops hit here, but this is a challenge where I've seen abstract approaches when what I really wanted were on-the-nose club bangers. Still looking forward to a strong finish from you in R5!

9.67/10 score rank #2 of 21VOCALS 9PRODUCTION 10CHALLENGE 10Smooth transitions within tracks like these will bring people to the dance floor and this song does that for sure. Great vocals and production and i'm glad we can building a familar energy from the tracks submitting throughout the rounds. wish the vocals shine a little bit more but the production took the drivers seat which is still great. awesome job!
