OK I'm curious, is Lil Yazz a native French speaker? The accent is confusing because it's neither québécois nor European (sounds like some kind of American mélange), but I find it hard to believe they wrote this all with a translator app. It was a super pleasant surprise when I opened up the .html and saw it was all in French. (I studied French for the better part of 20 years and I consider myself pretty fluent.) Yazz did an excellent job writing bars and managing complex liaisons and syllables in what I assume is a foreign-ish language. This inspires me to do what I've wanted to do for a while, write songs in non-English! There's quite a bit of "argot" (slang) used as well (e.g. verlan in "la mif", the words "mec" & "cramer"). I won't give it a 10 because it feels like you still have room to get comfy in the language. On the production side I think it's a solid bop your head beat with good variations and arrangement choices. On the challenge side I think the holistic track, the "live elements" and the chorus just miss the mark of being a full on club banger.

Le travail accompli ici mérite une critique d'un niveau équivalent. C'est, à ce jour, votre meilleure contribution au concours. J'ai fait de mon mieux pour traduire le tout en français tout en veillant à ce que le texte reste cohérent. Cela dit... À mon avis, les points forts de la chanson résident dans ses différentes composantes qui, une fois réunies, en font une excellente participation pour ce quatrième round ; toutefois, je trouve l'approche du défi un peu trop abstraite pour que je lui attribue une note plus élevée. Ayant étudié le français à l'école et fait partie du club de français, je pense faire partie du public cible, mais cette dimension risque d'exclure ceux qui n'ont pas ce bagage plutôt que de les attirer.

Comment ca va! Beat reminds me of MIA Paper Planes in a good way. Can definitely hear this playing in a club in France. Beat is memorable. Vocal performance is tres magnifique. A few parts could be tighter (particularly the doubles), but overall I love this. This definitely sounds authentic to what I’d expect to hear overseas when I’m prowling the strip, lol.

Unfortunately I couldn't remember how to view the genius notes for the lyrics, but everything sounds like real French and good rap. I'm surprised you didn't go for some French lyrics to chop up. The beat is nasty. Bassline is good gross. Love that junkyard-ass snare sample. I dig the big switchup. Solid!

Bass is booming for sure in this track! its good to know that there are many types of clubs that play deferent styles and I can understand it with this type of track so it meet the challenge. I feel this is the best round for your team, vocals are cleaner especially in a different languange. very cool!
