You're a rapper turned rocker. Your drummer just quit the band. The big show is tonight. You panic. You disassociate. You're not even here. The mask is doing the work now. And also Joey is there. Glenn Case arrives out of nowhere to harmonize. You notice Ailsean ripping away at the guitar. You look to the heavens. All at once your body relaxes. Your strength returns. Tanner has been at master-control the whole time, keeping this ship afloat. Your confidence grows. Your fear dissipates. You grasp the microphone. You're still not here, you're everywhere. You remembered to bring 3 friends. You remembered not to use first-person perspective. You are a god now.

Producer's challenge writeup

Ive got a few things here that SOUND like drums, but aren't.... fun! The big downbeat "kick" is a processed door closing. The smaller rhythmic "kick" is also a processed knock on a door. One of the "cymbals" is striking an aluminum rake tong with a lot of reverb. The other "cymbals" are just white noise with a notch eq phasing the frequency range. Clock ticking sounds for the hi-hats, various rhythmic tapping on glass during sections, a shaker sample in certain spots. I also recorded the clap stack myself. As David S Pumpkins would say, "Any questions??"

This is incredible. The mix on this great. Hook is catchy. This is one of those cross-media bangers that I can totally hear in a film soundtrack or on TV. Zero complaints, this is a hit both in and out of the confines of the VPC.

Really impressed with how heavy the production is despite it having ZERO DRUMS! The main riff is so chugging and gnarly and heavy. Really love the guitar work Taking a point off the challenge because Joey Z used the first person possessive pronoun "my" (even though it was used in the context of a quotation", still counts.) The song is great to listen to, the vocals are good, I'm just not really that compelled by the concept, the melody or the hook overall.

Oh no, I'm doing this alphabetically this round, so I just came from Oops All Drums! Here we go, wait lemme read y'all's notes first... awu ^w^ okay, not that vibe i see... Okay, I like the diss track in second person as the no first-person approach. Joey's verse is fucking fire. I do wish I could hear the very tail of her "worse when ur here" bar. I will automate a vocal SO loud sometimes to make sure it stays legible through a bigloudmusicthing. It can help to also automate down some low-end on the EQ to retain an apparently similar vocal "weight" through the boost. This will help it feel more natural, leave plenty of room for the bigloudmusicthing to hit, but not make the vocal feel like it's jumping out of the screen at you like bad 3-D lol. You just want the lyric to maintain a presence. If you dial it in with these techniques, you can trick any ear! The vocal stack on the hook is super tasty. I am a sucker for vocoder and sir you've suckered me.

very solid track overall. Really like the rock/ melodic hook concept you did here. very creative and keeping it straight to the point of the song. verses were dope along with the production. little small clashes with adlibs in a few parts of the vocals but very subtle and for the production i wish the drums were a little more prominent in the instrumental especially in the hook. overall great work!

I think this one is a big change from your past tracks, the punk elements have given way to a glamrock vibe gone diss track, which is a very specific niche that I've seen before in Hades II specifically (iykyk) and I kind of love that. * All teams receive a '10' in their challenge category from me this round. This has to be one of the most randomized challenges and can seem insurmountable with the wrong pairing. As such, I am thoroughly impressed with everyone's ability to rise to the task.
