TOO HOT Complete Lyric Sheet Jared Sparks, Robot C, Tommy, Joey Z, Messiah Carey, Damn Selene INTRO / VOCALIZATION Ooh, ooh-ooh... Ooh, ooh-ooh... Ooh, ooh-ooh... CHORUS That ghost pepper's too spicy You gotta be mighty Think you just might be A little too hot Too, too, too hot Too, too, too hot Too, too, too hot OPENING SCENE Robot C: What's that reddish-orange pepper, Daddy? Jared Sparks: Oh, that's a ghost pepper. Robot C: That looks scary. Jared Sparks: Nah, son, it's tasty. Take a bite, you'll like it. It's in your blood, kid. Don't overthink it. Robot C: Last time you made me eat one of your peppers, my tongue got a third-degree burn. How do I know this time it won't take a turn? Robot C: This time, you go first. See how that goes. Tommy: Smells like Tommy's old diaper. Jared Sparks: Nah, nah, nah. Last I knew, you were scarfing Mom's hot fries. Here I was thinking Robot C, he's a tough guy. Robot C: Oh, it's like that? Let's use the greatest tool. In this house, after this, I don't want to hear any of your crap! Jared Sparks: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Robot C: Stupid, dumb crap. Jared Sparks: Hey, you watch your mouth when you talk to me, okay? You eat this pepper. Jared Sparks: All right, all right, all right. Listen. Robot C: What? Jared Sparks: Let's just do it at the same time, okay? Robot C: On the count of three. Jared Sparks and Robot C: One, two, three. [They bite the peppers. Screaming, coughing, gagging, and chaos.] Robot C: I think that I'm havingI think this is another third-degree burn! Tommy: Help! Help! CHORUS That ghost pepper's too spicy You gotta be mighty Think you just might be A little too hot Too, too, too hot Too, too, too hot Too, too, too hot VERSE 1 JOEY Z I seen all the cool kids going ghost at the park You gotta be ice cold or get broken apart When that spice hits the buds and your tongue goes numb Gotta chug a bunch of milk and embrace what you become You just might breathe fire results may vary Usually works better if you're not a big scary So come on, take a bite, don't you wanna be cool? Then be yourself and choose to do whatever we do at school VERSE 2 MESSIAH CAREY I wanna do whatever it is that you do, Joey If there's a bridge to jump off, show me Work my way to the habs real slowly Roly-poly duty, anything you throw me Thai chilies? Having those Poblanos? Smashing those Serranos? Baby, pass me those With some ethically sourced, free-range jalapeos Who you gonna call when the Scoville's maxed? Face on fire, holding gas Face the facts, you could take a pass And when you put it in your mouth, you can't take it back Ay! VERSE 3 DAMN SELENE Don't fear the reaper, feel the fever With the leaking peepers, gonna need a breather When you eat a heater, pick a peck of pickled peppers like a Stop pretending you like peppers when you just want bragging rights You are not a soldier, kid, you ate a corn chip and survived I'm a habanero type 'cause my taste buds are functioning Background voice: But the Scoville Shut up, nerd, just eat a dozen of 'em And then eat a dozen more Huh, that's what the fluff they're for FINAL CHORUS That ghost pepper's too spicy You gotta be mighty Think you just might be A little too hot Transcribed from Too Hot REV 1. A few rapid-fire words may require confirmation against the isolated vocal stems.

8.00/10 score rank #14 of 24VOCALS 8PRODUCTION 9CHALLENGE 7Okay, what a fun concept. Did y'all really eat a ghost chile?! The guest verses sound good and all feel relatively balanced. This song really came together. Damn, I love when you let the beat open for a bit at the end. I think this is my favorite beat of yours this year. It's got a really unique mature but simple vibe, like a Paul Simon song or something.

7.67/10 score rank #22 of 24VOCALS 7PRODUCTION 8CHALLENGE 8Oh my, this was chaos in the best way. Felt like eating a hot chili but in song form. Especially the opening with the theatrical scene of eating a pepper. "If there's a bridge to jump off, show me" is CRAAAAZY work. That beat is not really a lo-fi beat. I've listened to enough lo-fi beats while driving on tour to know this. Somehow chili bars in a chili bars are some of the hottest bars I've heard from the features. It was a great balance of emcee voices you got on there too. That chorus is actually flamin' hot. "That Ghost Pepper's TOOO SPICY." really knocks me on my ass. Robot C has a budding talent for writing huge spicy hooks. I often like to selfishly think say that not all spaces can or should be kids' spaces. Sometimes I am like that about nerdcore and hip-hop. I feel like there's so much NSFW stuff that we all make and that nerdcore spaces (not talking about general nerd spaces) should largely be one for legal adults. Controversial opinion, I know. However you've changed my mind about this. I think it's really rad and encouraging that Jared is cultivating his kid's talent and passion. I wish I had encouraging parents when I first got into this. I often dream about where I'd be if I had full-throated support vs tepid tolerance. OK maybe this is getting too deep and personal. I think Jared should keep on supporting his kid's interests and hobbies, wherever they may lead him. It makes for a more well-adjusted, creative future adult, and that's an excellent way to parent. Keep it up!

9.00/10 score rank #12 of 24VOCALS 9PRODUCTION 8CHALLENGE 10This is really wholesome. Robot C really shines here. The whole cast made this an enjoyable song. Solid beatboxing here, production is cool, maybe a few cadence variations on the drums could (no pun intended) spice it up, but it does a good job of letting the vocalists shine here.

9.33/10 score rank #10 of 24VOCALS 9PRODUCTION 9CHALLENGE 10The chorus is so good man, I'm loving this song. I love peppers, but I have my limit. And eating a ghost pepper raw is not on my list of things I'm even remotely interested in. When spice overrules flavor, I'm out. This is basically my anthem, so I'm giving it high marks. * All teams receive a '10' in their challenge category from me this round. This has to be one of the most randomized challenges and can seem insurmountable with the wrong pairing. As such, I am thoroughly impressed with everyone's ability to rise to the task.
