Press Start (feat. Stuck from 2d6 and Huge Euge)
Vocalist's challenge writeup
The challenge this round was no using words such as "I, me, my, etc." This challenge was faithfully held to with only implied references to the rappers involved (in track order, Pixcelation, Stuck from 2d6, Cliff, and Huge Euge), save for the last word of the last line of Huge Euge's verse, with the emphasis both in his delivery and the production choices made, felt that the breaking of the challenge was worth it. Also, that he was not a part of the official team, though technically still bound by the rules of the challenge, made the decision less difficult. Had that been an official member of the team, a different direction may have been chosen. However, tbh it makes the song feel cooler so in the end we went with a cooler moment, regardless of where that lands us with the competition.
Producer's challenge writeup
For this round, I had to use chiptunes sounds. I placed synths in the song using a plugin called NES VST, and added beeps and boops throughout the song.

9.33/10 score rank #10 of 24VOCALS 9PRODUCTION 9CHALLENGE 10Chiphop? Yeah. Yeah this fuckin rules. I don't really know what else to say but 'hell yeah'. * All teams receive a '10' in their challenge category from me this round. This has to be one of the most randomized challenges and can seem insurmountable with the wrong pairing. As such, I am thoroughly impressed with everyone's ability to rise to the task.

7.67/10 score rank #23 of 24VOCALS 8PRODUCTION 8CHALLENGE 7Great work. This is fun. Vocals are confident, and definitely do the job re: delivering the message. Beat is chiptune and matches up with the subject at hand. Great job on the synth instrumentation here, it doesn't feel like a bunch of random unrelated chip synths thrown together. Could benefit from a little polish on flow on the vocalist side (vocal doubles in particular), and vocal mix/levels on the production side, but this is very cool as it stands. Took some challenge points off because there's a big ol' "me" at the end lol. This actually reminds me of a song i did "Death Egg Flow" early in my foray into nerdcore. Pixcelationnnnn Please, keep making music.

8.00/10 score rank #15 of 24VOCALS 7PRODUCTION 7CHALLENGE 108 bit beats will always have a special place in my heart! really cool song. The vocals are nice but they can be a little low/ high in the mix at times. solid beat throughout with mixing live drums with 8-bit synth. overall very smooth track, just the vocals levels were really all over the place unfortunately.

8.33/10 score rank #13 of 24VOCALS 8PRODUCTION 7CHALLENGE 10You violated the letter of the challenge to make the right choice to the song. As it should be! Oh shit, Ohio Nerdcore roll call. This is a really unique approach to no first-person pronouns. It's almost like headline syntax and directives. Really unique and fresh! Building up to a singular use of "Me" on the last word of the last verse feels like the perfect reason to avoid personal pronouns up until then and perfectly in the spirit of the challenge. If anything, you made it "more" the point of the song by doing that. The vocal feels rough, but in the way an old bedroom punk record does. Euge's verse does sound noticeably louder than the others and could have been brought down a bit. This beat has big Atom and His Package energy. Part of this energy is the four on the floor kick drum, but if you were wanting to lean more into the punk vibe, I would encourage you to play around with using a "D beat" or another classic punk drum pattern: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZ-zWXVCgYM

8.00/10 score rank #18 of 24VOCALS 8PRODUCTION 6CHALLENGE 10I also feel like the final break of the challenge didn't warrant a loss of points from me. It was tastefully and intentionally implemented. I also like the approach you took better than "all third person" or "all second person". It feels like you committed deeply to the challenge and especially with Cliff, including almost no pronouns at all, forcing to focus on wordplay, images and sounds. I feel like the rapping quality varied somewhat, depending on the vocalist some of it was not in the pocket. I feel the production here fell short, in particular the vocal engineering wasn't super clean with EQ issues and syncing of doubles, which made levels sound kind of imbalanced across the board. The beat was fun but not that polished, feels like it has a garageband feel. Thank you for participating in the VPC, it was great to hear new stuff from 2d6 (and its members) again and I hope to see a comeback sometime very soon!
